You can permanently delete your Illume account and everything associated with it. This page explains how to do it and what happens to your data.
If you have the app installed:
You will be asked to type DELETE to confirm. If your account has a password, you will also be asked for it.
If you are signed in at illumeapp.org, open Settings and choose Delete account at the bottom of the page. It works the same way as the app, and takes effect straight away.
Email us from the address on the account and we will delete the account for you. We answer these requests within 7 days. contact@illumeapp.org
Your profile (email address, display name and profile picture), your reading progress, bookmarks, highlights and notes, and your history of AI queries and reflections.
Your account is deactivated the moment you confirm and removed from our database 30 days later. We keep a record of the deletion request itself, and the transaction records our accountants are required to hold; neither contains your reading data.
If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, deleting your account does not cancel it - cancel it in the store, or you will keep being charged. If you subscribed on our website, we stop the renewal for you when your account is deleted, so you will not be charged again; the period you have already paid for runs to its normal end date.
